Monogrammed (in ligature) and dated lower right. Verso with estate stamp "Morgner Nachlaß Tappert" (Lugt 1824a) and with hand-written number "972". On laid paper by Ingres d'Arches MBM France (with watermark). 47,3 x 62,5 cm (18,6 x 24,6 in), almost the full sheet.
Accompanied by written expertise issued by Walter Weihs, Wilhelm-Morgner-Archive, Soest. The work is registrered inthe hand-written catalog raisonné by Georg Tappert, respectively in its continuation by Weihs, with the number 972.
PROVENANCE: Private collection North Rhine-Westphalia.
The "Astralen Kompositionen" presumably originate from inner sensation that Morgner wanted to visualize. Botanical forms disintegrate and make for a composition, in which emotion and abstraction are mutually dependent. [KD].
