Koeman Sche 13. - Phillips/L. 3044. - LGK II, 704. - Regional atlas, published by P. Schenk in various compilations as of 1752. The maps are based upon the hand-drawn local maps of A. F. Zürner. - Almost complete, enhanced copy: According to Sche 17 some 48 maps were published in 56 leaves; this copy lacks the maps of Freyberg and Schwarzenberg, instead with an additional map of the Lagers der Königliege Pohlnische u. Churfürstliege Sächsische Armée in der Gegend Leipzig [transl.:Camp of the Royal Polish and Saxonian Army near Leipzig] (dat. 1745), also with 20 small views of Leipzig and its most prominent buildings bound in (on 10 ll., dat. 1704-05) as well as two splendid large views of Meißen and Augustenburg. - Below the maps the two nice maps of Upper and Lower Lusatia, each printed from four plates (here each jointed to 2 ll.) and the maps of Meissen and the Ore Mountain district, each printed on two plates (also jointed). - With armorial centrepiece with the crest of Saxonia, with the integrated motto of the Order of the Garter "Honi soit qui mal y pense". - Ca. ten maps with minor browning and partly faint offsetting on the opposite side, 1 view with small stain in the white margin, the map of Lower Lusatia with small brown stain, the map of the Ore Mountain district with small tear in the folding. Binding with scratches in places, spine skilfully renewed in contemp. style. Otherwise well-preserved copy of the regional atlas with fine impressions on strong paper.
Nearly complete copy of Schenk's regional Atlas of Saxony, enriched with one further map and with views of Leipzig and Meissen. 46 (of 48) engr. maps, coloured in outline (on 48 sheets; 4 folding) plus one extra map and 22 engr. views (on 12 sheets; 2 doublepage). Contemp. calf with gilt spine, boards with gilt arms of the electorate of Saxony including the motto of the Order of the Garter "Honi soit qui mal y pense". - About ten maps slightly browned resp. with offset of the opposite page, 1 leaf with view with small stain in the white margin, folding map of Niederlausitz with one small brownstain, map of the Erzgebirgische Kreis with tear in folding. Binding partly scraped, spine skilfully renewed in contemporary style. Overall a well preserved clean copy.
