An almost identical study of this motif can be found in Pechstein's travelog of his South Sea journey, with an entry from 26 May 1914: "Unser Kurs ist jetzt direkt von Westen anch Osten, schönes klares Wetter / Temperatur bleibt um 30 % [sic!] Celsius [..]" (cf. Soika, vol. I, p. 65, illu. 3. 2.). [JS].
