• A colorful, almost ornamental still life by Erich Heckel.
• Presumably painted against the backdrop of the studio wall in Osterholz, where the artist´s garden was filled with blooming poppies.
• In private family ownership for several decades.
The work is listed in the estate of Erich Heckel, Hemmenhofen on Lake Constance. We are grateful to Ms. Renate Ebner for her kind assistance.

EXHIBITIONS:

In good condition. The sheet edges are slightly irregular and very slightly browned in places. There are isolated tears along the edges, particularly on the left edge, as well as small missing parts and adhesive residue from an old mount. One of the tears on the left has been backed (approx. 2.5 cm). On the reverse, there are remnants of an old mount running around the entire edge, these are visible on the front and show through in places.
