In good condition. Partially with slight craquelé, there partly with accumulation of colour clods. Tear on the right image's half (9 cm), not visible from the front.

Otten 164. Signed lower right. Once more signed and titled on the reverse. 89 : 115 cm (35 : 45,2 in). After various experiments in painting Brüning returned in 1957 “to a modified version of the series he had begun in 1956, which from then on would assume an increasingly personal character. More and more ample and ‘typical’ gestures, which gradually make the ground shine through or, on the other hand, through being worked up with white visually tear open the picture space, together with articulation of the marginal zones that is increasingly economical and reduction of the pastose application of paint lead to further clarification of space” (Otten, p. 138).
