This is the first variation of Melusine as standing figure. The figure was also executed seated the same year and in 1949 as "Melusine III" in form of a standing nude. [NB].

EXHIBITION: XXVI. Biennale Internazionale d'Arte di Venezia 1952 (with label on base, there with typographed number "126").
