'Currently I only live for the preparation for landscapes, test and try my new palette, which is the most colorful imaginable. [..] I am going to paint many small color sketches and learn to apply my palette. The landscape has the advantage that it spares us from a scrupulous execution, which is so important in still lives, especially with large pictures that look halfway finished. The only thing that matters in the landscape is color. ' Quote from: Hendrikje Warmt, Karl Hagemeister, Berlin 2016, p. 110.
