• “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes." is his most famous sentence. He was obsessed with fame, glamour and tragedy and made the Factory in New York the place where all of it could happen
• His vast oeuvre comprises paintings and silkscreens that have one thing in common: recurring, immediately identifiable motifs from popular culture
• In 1968 and 1982 the artist participated in documenta 4 and 7
• Mick Jagger was one of Warhol‘s preferred motifs, of whom, next to Marilyn Monroe, he made the most portraits
• The work is based on a photo Warhol shot of Mick when he and Bianca rented Warhol‘s house on Long Island in summer 1975
• Strong reference to popular culture and disco aesthetics of the 1970s
• Unique object, made as part if the silkscreen series "Mick Jagger" (Feldman/Schellmann/Defendi II. 138-147).
