Signed in lower right, verso with the estate stamp (Lugt 1570b) and the hand-written number "K Da/Bc 19". On copper plate printing paper, partly rebacked by the artist with creme wove paper. 33.5 x 52.7 cm (13.1 x 20.7 in), the full sheet.
Verso with fragments of a pencil sketch. [CH].
• First published in 1925.
• Preliminary chalk drawing for the painting "Am Bergsee" (Gordon 562) from the same year.
• Kirchner captures the mountain panorama on paper with such an enormous emotional will to create that it cannot withstand the artist's strong lines in places of the margins.
• Almost geometrically abstracted Davos alpine landscape.
• Interesting overall composition of landscape in the middle and background and figure scene in the foreground.
