Oil on canvas.
Bottom left signed. With an older label on the reverse. 75 x 100 cm (29.5 x 39.3 in).
• One of the rare, large poppy fields in Karl Hagemeister's oeuvre.
• Particularly bright, high-contrast floral motif with the colors in an extraordinary intensity.
• Intimate, personal interpretation of the motif, a tendency that became popular at the turn of the century through Impressionism.
• Unusually delicate and airy application of paint for Hagemeister, a reference to the flowers' fragility.
