Erste Ausgabe. - Das Werk entstand unmittelbar nach der letzten Rußland-Reise des Verfassers im Jahre 1811. "J'ai rapidement esquissé cette Description de Saint-Pétersbourg, lors de mon dernier voyage en 1811, sans aucun projet de la publier, mais seulement pour fixer les souveniers agréables de mon séjour dans cette Capitale. Je ne l'imprime aujourd'hui, que pour appuyer l'authenticité des douze Tableaux suivants, que je tiens des Architectes du Gouvernement." (Vorwort) - Im Jahr 1815 erschien in London ein Werk mit ähnlichem Titel, 12 identischen sowie 8 zusätzlichen Aquatinta-Tafeln: "A Picture of St. Petersburgh, Represented in a Collection of 20 interesting Views of the City, the Sledges, and the People. Taken on the Spot at the twelve different Months of the Year, and acc. with an Historical and Descr. Account" (Lipperheide Kaa 31). - Die schöne Folge von 12 reich staffierten Ansichten zeigt u. a. das Theater, das Arsenal, das Marsfeld, die Börse und die Newa. - Leicht stockfleckig, Ränder und der Plan gebräunt, 2 Tafeln mit kl. Einriß im Rand und im Plattenrand. Einbd. beschädigt. - Aus der Bibliothek C. A. Isermeyer, Hamburg.12 aquatints and engr. maps.
