Ebner/Gabelmann 575 H. Dube H 262. Signed and dated. From an edition of 24 known copies. On wove paper. 43 x 21.6 cm (16.9 x 8.5 in). Sheet: 58,5 x 31 cm (23 x 12,2 in).

Shown on the cover of the catalog of the 1914 Spring Exhibition at Kunst-Salon Fritz Gurlitt in Berlin, with works by six artists, among them 20 paintings, watercolors and drawings by Erich Heckel. [AW].

• Ascetic self-portrait in a speicla format and a redued style.
• Disbandment of the artist group "Brücke" in 1913, the year that was so eventful for Heckel 1913.
• Another copy is in the Städel Museum in Frankfurt a. Main.
• Privtaely owned for more than 50 years

In good condition. All in all minimally unevenly discolored, predominantly affecting outer margins. With very few brownish stains and small traces from the making. Center of right margin with an expertly restored split (ca. 20mm).
