• According to Hans Geißler, Erich Heckel Estate, the sitter is Maria Sophia Barth, Heckel's grandmother on his mother's side, who died in Dresden in 1909 at the age of 90.

In good condition. Slightly browned edges, partly with tiny tears, primarily in upper left, as well as somewhat more distinctly browned all around, soiled and with slight creases and compression marks. Very few tiny brownish spots in broad margins.
