• Rare contemporary document: Spiegel's early work was almost completely destroyed during the war.
• The mid-1920s marked the young artist's breakthrough: in 1925 he became a professor at the Stuttgart Academy and took part in exhibitions organized by the Berlin Secession and the November Group.
• Large-format work with maximum tension and dynamism, the figures seem to burst the canvas
