Gamba 1985. - Brunet III, 1293 notes. - First dition of the posthumously released Sammelband with treatises that had previously only been released as inidvidual writings; all in all, only a few of Magalotti's writings, most of which were circulating as manscripts, were released in his lifetime (1637-1711), even though he covered a great range of topics and was highly treasured (cf. DSB IX, 5). - The seven chapters cover, among others, the Nile, the unicorn, the emperor of Abessinia, the palmtree and its usages, China (following Johann Grüber) et al. The plates (after Tellez) shows the source of the Nile. - Inside joints loosened, towards the end slightly water stained. Lacking spine, lower corner of boards with defective spots to covering. - Ex-libris Henryson-Caird.
